Low Fat Turkey Chili so good!!!

Me and Jake are on a diet and he really loves chili. So i inspired myself to make some lean chili without fatty hamburger meat that i usually make it with. I normally do not eat turkey that much its not my favorite. I went to the store and saw the ground turkey it look pretty good. Since we are on a diet i thought i mine as well try it instead of hamburger meat. Turned out pretty lean and tasty. Enjoy!

Ingredients

1lb of Ground Turkey

2 Cans of Kidney Beans

2 Cans of Butter Beans

1 Can of Diced Tomatoes with Onions

1 Can of Diced Tomatoes with Chili Peppers

1 Onion

2 Garlic Cloves

1 Cup Tomato Sauce

1 Can of Tomato Paste

2 Small Cans Diced Chili's

1 1/2 Teaspoon Chili Powder

1 teaspoon of Oregano

Start off with Frying up the Ground turkey in a non stick frying pan with little bit of Pam cooking spray so it wont stick. Dice the onion and finely chop the garlic cloves. Add the onion and the garlic to frying pan with the meat. Let the meat fry up till its no longer pink and Little bit brown on the edges. In a large pot add all of the Can tomatoes and the Tomato paste and the sauce. Let that warm up for a couple minutes while you are draining the beans. Drain the kidney beans and the butter bean in the sink until there are no longer juices in the can. Add the beans to the Tomato sauce. Add the Chili powder and the oregano and mix that in the sauce . Let that simmer while you open the small cans of chili's. Add the chili's at the very end and that that all simmer together to mix in all the flavor on medium high for about 10 minutes with a lid on. Once its all done taste it and make sure its flavorful before you add anymore salt to the pot. I did not add that much salt because all of the flavors in the tomato's onions and garlic is a good mix. Hope you all like it. Yummy and low in fat !!

Low Fat Chicken and Red Pepper Penne for two

I decided to make a pasta recipe that doesn't have tomatoes in it. Almost everything that i make has tomatoes in it. I decided to change things up because my husband Jake's always asks if there is tomatoes in this. I trick him this time! I really have been liking red peppers lately and been using it in some of the food that i make. I tried to figure out a recipe that would include my two favorite things pasta and chicken. One of the things that i have learned from my mom when cooking is, when cooking chicken or beef to add either a chopped onion or garlic to the meat so you don't have to add as much salt and it flavors the meat allot more. Here how my recipe turned out Hope you all enjoy it!

Ingredients

1 package or Box of whole wheat Penne

2 whole Chicken Breast

1 red Pepper

3 garlic cloves

2 green onions

2 tablespoons butter

1 can chicken Broth

1 can Creme of Chicken Soup

1/2 Lemon

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon dried basil

1 teaspoon pepper

Start of with the two thawed chicken breast and cut the chicken length wise. While doing that put a frying pan on the stove with the 2 table spoons butter and three cloves garlic finely chopped. Brown the chicken for about 15 minutes on medium high till the chicken is brown on both sides. Chopped your red pepper and green onions and then toss then in the frying pan. Let the vegetables saute with the meat for about 5 minutes. After that add your chicken broth and the Creme of Chicken soup to the frying pan. Let that simmer and add the salt, pepper, and the dried basil. Last of all add the lemon to the sauce to give it Little zest. Let the sauce cook for like 5 minutes to let is thicken. If you think needs Little bit more salt feel free to add more. I have learned to cook by taste and this turned out pretty great.

For the noodles fill the pot more than half full. Let the water come to a boil. Once the water is boiling add the wheat Penne and a pinch of salt. Let that boil for about 15-20 stirring occasionally. You can taste a noodle and can tell if that is done or not.

For extra taste- Add some Parmesan cheese or Mozzarella cheese

Yummy !!!!!!!!!!
